I recently found a 1983 with a denver mint mark .The penny that seems to be made of the same metal as a nickel? The condition of it is good.It is not plated or coated with any thing. Can anyone tell me about it, and is it worth anything besides a penny?sorry I dont have a picture.

More than likely its plated in such a way that its hard to tell.
BUT it could be an error....but not on a nickel....it could be struck on a dime plachet....
If you could post a few photos and the weight....if you don't have a way to weigh it take it to a jewelry store and ask them if they will weigh it.

It is possible for a coin to be struck on a smaller planchet than intended, but not on a larger... it is possible for a penny to be struck on a dime planchet. It could also be on a planchet that is missing its copper coating (though highly unlikely). Or it could just be altered in some way that is not easily detectable.

    Picture would help, lol...

it sounds like someone has chemically removed the copper plating. This is simple to accomplish.
