I was at a coin show near me yesterday and picked up the scarce Botanical Garden Dollar/Nickel/Dollar Bill set for $125, which I feel is a decent price for a set of only 25,000.
The number of intact sets extant must be very low, since it is frequently broken up to get to the matte finish specimen nickel (of which I just bought a slabbed example - oh well!).
I'll try to post pictures later before bringing it down to the bank tomorrow to store away in one of my SDBs.

  4. Nice pick up. That's the cheapest I have seen them in a very long time. TC

I purchased some other items (xf Morgans) from the same guy and negotiated a price lower than his initial asking price.

I am really wanting to see one of those sets, so I'll be one of those skeptics and say "Pics or it didn't happen" ;)

In other news, congrats on the pickup!

Call me crazy but after seeing this thread I went ahead and bought one. It looks really nice and I will be awaiting for the set.

I would love to see a picture too! I have never heard of this set before! Care to explain a little more about it? Clad or silver?

Consists of a BU silver dollar, a matte specimen Jefferson, a dollar bill.
Comes in a sleeve along with a booklet.

Isn't the Jefferson supposed to be frosted ?
