Nice coins. I can't grade (guess at least) because the image is dark and hard to see the detail beneath the color. The 1907 seems to have been rubbed a little because of the darker areas on the high pints of the obverse IMO. They are still nice coins.
Pictures are too dark for me to even fathom what they look like in hand. I would not even look at an auction with those pictures - just my opinion.
I wouldn't purchase a coin with this type of eye appeal. I would only give it a 2 out of a pssible 10. It's a shame, since it does seem to have possible AU? detail from what I guess, I can see. I hope it's the photography and not the coin looking this way.
I agree the darkness of the coins makes it hard but it does look like there is at least some evidence of wear on the wreath on the reverse of 07 for sure and the 06 looks like the L in liberty is starting to wear. Grade at best AU. Eye appeal??? Pics make it hard to tell if it's just dirt or grease or strange, irregular toning going on. Seeing that they are the same composition as early wheats I'm hoping they aren't blackening because that would be exposure to extreme humidity or being submerged in water. Even that is a mystery because when that happens the color is a consistant mud or black color that engulfs the coin. Also coins usually are starting to corrode and decay so you see bad pitting some green where the oxidation hasn't been quite that bad yet stuff like that. Biggest questions you could answer would be where you got them? and how long have you had them? If they weren't handed down from 06-07 the previous owner could have found them buried in the backyard or salvaged from the gulf and hurricane katrina. You never know.
Glad I passed on both based on what I have seen here.. I wasn't sure if the color/whatever it is was a tone type of something worse... Thanks all...
