I found this quarter a few weeks ago and I was wondering if this is something neat to add to my collection.The quarter is a 1??? and you can't see the date because of what I think is an error that put the metal back on top of the date. From the back of the coin you can also see that a few words are missing. It says "United Stat ... merica"What do you guys think about it?
I think you have a keeper! That is a cud error, a die break that happens at the rim of the die. The missing letters on the reverse are caused by the die not producing enough pressure opposite the broken area to fully strike the coin. Nice find.
Cool, I always have a hard time finding keepers in my change. This is like my fourth so far. Is it worth anything more than face value?
