I am a 'local' (a little north of Orlando). He is right. Occasionally we'll have a couple days in a row of cloudy and 50s. And, yes, if it's in the 50s or lower we wear heavy coats!! LOL.

Thanks for the insights. There are a couple of dealers whom I like in the Ancients and World field. Ever since Clark A Samuelson (US Coins, TX) died in a car accident, I haven't been able to establish good relations with any US dealer. Also I don't really buy that much US anymore.

It's my understanding that in addition to gold, "common cents" has not gone up either.

17 days and the fun starts. Anyone else have a table number to post?

Friday at FUN. It's open to everyone. Charmy, Rick Snow and Chris Pilliod are always there. The club has table 867 at the show.

A friend txt'd me and wants me to go. Room rates for the show dates are still the same price and my woman friend dropped out so I can get a cheaper room.

Should I come Thurs - Sun or Fri - Sun? Decisions decisions. I'm afraid of expensive coins in this market.

Hi everyone. For some reason I don't get the coin talk email sent to me regularly like it did in years past. I have to put my old brain to work to remember to read new posts. I just found this post and haven't read through all of yet but I figured I should post some comments while its still very active. I'll go back over it and make notes about who's going and where you'll be.
I live an hour north of Orlando and try to get there for FUN but I don't always make it. We moved here 22 years ago and at first it was the one big thing I looked forward to. After 10 years went by I started getting older and more lazy.
I belong to 2 coin clubs (North Lake and Ocala) and they share a bus to the show each year. I'm not a big bus person so I usually drove. However the parking fees are nuts. So, I'll be going down on Thursday with the bus.
I'm planning on doing some selling at this show. Boy I think my hands were shaking when I typed that. I don't do well selling. I'm a collector. I thought about posting questions here for some input before hand but never got to it. I have a small collection of Obsolete notes from my former area of Albany and Troy New York. Also business scrip from the same areas. I'm thinking that I'll bring those down to sell.
I have a large number of small size currency pieces..... $1, $2, $5, $10 notes 1928 and up. They will come also. I'll stop my comments now because this thread is about the people coming to the show and not about me. Sorry.
I look forward to seeing the set up by John Milton - another Florida man. And I'll go now to read the rest of this thread. I hope to stop by all of the tables of the other Coin Talk folks.
    Rich Deming, TradingGreen.

If you login daily or every now and then, you should have ALERTS highlight new threads/posts that you've been active in.

Sorry I won't be able to get down there this year, it's been 3 years since my 1st FUN and I met lots of great people from CT who I've conversed with for years.:( I wanted to do it but family considerations (father) and other issues take precedence. I will do all in my power to make it down there in 2024.

I am very excited about attending. Plan is to go Saturday. I'm not sure if I'm more excited about seeing all the coins and displays, or meeting some of you,

I Just booked Hotel and travel so I guess I'm going. Note that often Dealers pack up early so getting there Friday or Thursday would be preferable.

I don't expect too many to be leaving early as I think the coin market is very hot these days. But Saturday arrival may be limiting.

I'll be there from Friday, hopefully near noon.

I'd really like to meet CT people as I don't expect to be able to buy ONE SINGLE coin due to the insane prices...

I will be spending time at the Central Florida Coin Club table 974. Also at JRCS club meeting Fri at 8:30 room N320A and LSCC club meeting Fri at 9 room N320F. I'll be the ugly old guy with somewhat longish hair. Oops, that probably describes hundreds of guys at this show.

Weather predictions: A cool front coming through Thursday bringing some scattered rain followed by cooler temperature on Friday (high 60s) and warming through Saturday and Sunday. So, should be good weather.

Its 2:30 at FUN and they just opened the bourse for dealer setup. I got registered an hour ago and will give the dealers some time before I go in. Weather is very nice. 600 tables and it looks and feels crowded in the lobby. I sense a generally upbeat feeling among the dealers. Show opens to the public at 10 am tomorrow.

It was a great day. Really busy. Ran into a lot of old friends.
I sense a generally upbeat feeling among the dealers as well.
