Definitely worth the $12.50 somebody paid.

 

It's a nice, common coin, appropriately priced for the quality.

 

I'd say it could've gone up to $20 no problem (If I had paypal )

 

Call me crazy...but it looks to me like it has scratches all over it indicative of a harsh cleaning.

 

I thought that that initially, but passed it off as poor photo quality.

 

i thought the same thing. bad cleaning job. not even close to au+, as the seller claimed.

 

I am the one that bought it.

 

Personally, I don't think it is cleaned, because the photos give evidence of the "cartwheel" Luster.

Looks whizzed to me. But for $12 it's a small price to pay if you like it. We've all bought cleaned coins if we've bought anything older than 100 years whether we like to admit it or not.

When you get it, post pics...I agree that the auctions photo are bad. I wouldn't have bought it based on those photos. But, who knows...maybe I'm wrong. Better photos will tell us.

In the future, don't be afraid to ask questions about an auction here prior to buying.
