Thats why you put all your coins in airtites before you die, so they won't fit in a counting machine.
Man no amount of "evil eye stare" could have made me hold my words back for that lady. Freedom of speech would have been deeply expressed on my end of this incident. Poor old lady probably held on those coin for decades.
Was just wondering the same thing. If it was a collection why wouldn't the coins be in a flip or some sort of holder?
WOW, hearing these stories about crooked coin dealers makes me glad I have the coin store I deal with. If I am going to be leaving the house for a while without my Dogs or anybody around, he will take my lock boxes with my coins and bullion and lock them in one of his safes. I can't understand any dealer being dishonest in this business, I hope the honest ones run them all out of business. A coin dealer needs to build trust with me or I go elsewhere. I would have had to yell on my way out the door with that dealer ripping off that elderly lady.
My father in-law's collection is pretty much the same. It's in a shoe box, and he might have a handful of coins in 2x2s. The dumb kid probably opened the flips to get the whole collection in the Coinstar.
I admire the Father for being willing to press charges against his son. That would be hard, but lossing my coin collection would be harder.
