Huge attendance today and most dealers reporting strong sales ... except for one that I know of. I spent a lot of time scouting the floor searching for items on my want list and practicing my eye to spot those premium coins. I looked at a few walkers and Morgans along the way but held off making offers until I was comfortable with my choices. I ran into one dealer who had several nice 1941-S Walkers earlier in the day and he told me today was it, he was packing up and heading back to California this evening at 6:00. One of his 41-S walkers was a MS65+ with a CAC sticker. I tried to get that one at my price, but he wouldn't budge off his, so I moved on. Around 4:00 PM I went back to several dealers where before I'd spotted coins that had my interest. I couldn't believe it ... they all sold! Every one of the Morgans I wanted were gone, so I started over going booth to booth once again.

Without realizing it, I ended up walking past the dealer who had those 41-S Walkers and I heard him call my name (I'd left him a card). When I looked around, he motioned me to come over, so over I went. He had the three 41-S Walkers out and handed me a piece of paper with prices written on it and said, "here's my rock bottom price on any of these you want."

Folks, I should have bought all three at those prices, but settled for the plus with CAC sticker at about $50.00 higher than I wanted it for. That's OK ... this one stays in my personal collection.

He told me later that he didn't do well at this show and that's why he made me the offer. He was a very likable person and I kind of felt sorry for him, but I'm sure he'll be fine the next time. Anyway, tomorrow is the last day and I did spot some more nice dollars and walkers that weren't out before. I'll let you know how I do and try to get some photos posted next Week.

Awesome. I wish I was there. Can you post a picture please?? Possibly of the Fun Show, and of the 41-s you got?

It is awesome and you should get yer tail feathers back here pronto. These dealers are hungry now! lol!

Didn't get a chance to say thanks for the lunch date ... enjoyed meeting everyone and had a great time.

    You home now?

Not familiar with coin shows, but don't dealers usually discount stuff on the last day of a show? You might find some coins for a cheaper price tomorrow.

Yup a good 10 hour drive. I'm seriously considering it.

    ice,

Yes, they always did years ago which was the last time when I went to one ... but not this deeply on a PQ. I'm hoping tomorrow brings good prices and there's still good pieces available.

I went today (first coin show) and as I was only looking for Ikes, the number of dealers who actually brought them was limited. I was looking to buy Ikes that were not slabbed, as I don't really need/want them to be. During my 3 hours there I found a decent amount of slabbed ones that were pricy, since they're slabbed, and then I found some unslabbed ones, but they were all in bad condition and one guy just had a bunch sitting in a bucket. I did manage to find 2 dealers who had some decent ones that were in 2x2s, but they wanted too much money and wouldn't budge on their prices.

I still enjoyed seeing all of the coins, especially some of the MS70s I saw, and I may attend again next year if I am searching for higher priced coins that more dealers will have, but until then I'll just be sticking to local shops and online.
