where's the wheat

    im new to coins and picked up a bag of wheats (800 or so and a few sliver coins too )
    what do i need to be looking for ?

    Ryan, I would go buy or check out from the library the Red Book, (Guide book of US coins, in a red cover). Its the bible of beginning US collectors. It will teach you much. Once you have digested that, feel free to ask questions here, we are glad to help.

    only one they had was the blue book .
    was just looking for key dates i have always bought silver coins but for $20 buck why not

    Keys will depend on condition of course. But the expensive listings in the blue book will be the same in the red, the red will just be higher since its retail and the blue book is wholesale.

    some 90% qtrs dimes mery then barber half qtr dime V nickel set 1916

    You can always search online to see what are the key dates. Of course get the book too so its much easier when you have it right next to your coins.

    whats it mean when it talks about red or brown ?

    Probably the color of the coin. The ones in your pic are all brown.

    theres a blue book and a red book is what he is talking about, they both tell you about coins.
