Greetings! I just wanted to know about the value of my dollars. There are three of them.1922 and 23 dollar and 1990 walking liberty dollar.Kindly enlighten me about its current worth.Thankyou
All three of your silver dollars are worth about melt. With silver trading at $28.75/oz today that equates to around $22 per Peace Dollar and roughly $29 for the American Silver Eagle (ASE). The Peace dollars each have about .77 oz of silver while the ASE has one troy ounce. Here's a link that will let you figure out the melt value for US coins. http://www.silvercoinstoday.com/silver-calculators/us-silver-coin-calculator/ Of note, your ASE might be the first one I've seen that looks like it's been circulated. Regardless it's still worth bullion melt value.
I hate to say it but your all wrong. People don't melt down ASE's they collect them. I'm sure you could get $32 out of it to the right person. Those peace dollars looked cleaned, but it's hard to tell from the pics. To the right person you can $25 or more out of them, which is more than melt. Maybe even $30.
The OP asked what they are worth, not speculation on how much he can get for them if he sold them. Those are 2 different things IMO.
They are worth more than melt. I might get $3600 out of my car if I sold it, but it has 2700 pounds of steel, so it's only worth $245. That don't even make good sense.
The OP asked for the value of his coins. Although value is purely opinion, they are worth more than the value of the silver in them.
When anyone says "melt value" they are indeed referring to spot price for silver. So in fact, we are all correct.
