Thoughts on these chopmarks?

    I saw that coin yesterday, it was one of the coins that prompted me to start a thread regarding chop marks and since when did they become a good thing.

    They all look original to me, just excessive.

    I must have missed that thread. I have the same coin in VF w/no chops, and am looking for more of the like. If authentic, I would consider purchasing But not being too familiar with chopmarks, or Mexican 8 reals makes me aprehensive.

    Its a lot. Some people have been looking at these because in other areas of numismatics countermarks have become hot. To my knowledge, though, almost none of these are attributable and are simply damage. I have a few, as they are kinda cool and showing a coins history, but I paid melt for mine.

    It looks real to me, and it is very common to see that many chop marks on a coin.

    I personally have not seen one with that many marks but it looks to be authentic. Too bad it looks as if it went on a grinder or something.
