Hey, as with in the paper money forum, about me calling the BEP, I also called the U.S. Mint, just to ask if they started minting the 2012 halves, and the lady said "NO, not yet, but call back in a couple weeks, and we should know when" And I said "Okay, thanks. Bye." So, if I call them back, and find out, I will keep those who are interested, updated. I should have asked about the 2012 Native American dollar coins as well, because I'd like to snag a few of those, too.
Did they offer you a squishie or big gulp? Seriously though, the Mint probably has been striking 2012 coins since last year sometime and the inbound call center probably has been told not to say anything yet.
You could just be patient and wait til they post them online to buy like most normal people would do.
