Besides taking time to honor our brave soldiers and veterans:hug:  ....................... I went shopping at the Ira and Larry Goldberg Auction.

    Here's what I got:

    SILVER:
    1759 Salzburg Taler (PCGS MS-63)

    GOLD:
    1900 Japan 10 Yen (NGC MS-65)

I like the yen better myself.

As for Memorial Day (which is today, May 30th - the last Monday is just the day that we get off), I was the speaker at the VFW services.

    Doug,
Did the hammer strike long and hard on this beauty:

    [IMG][IMG]

Lot 2646 Holland. Lion Daalder, 1589. Dav-8838. Knight looks right. Reverse: Lion. Light obverse scratch. Multi-color tone with underlying luster. NGC graded MS-63.
    Estimated Value $300-400.

Provenance: The Dr. Robert Hesselgesser Collection.

    Realized $4,000

    I max bid wasn't even close:D

Certainly one of the nicest I've seen. You don't find lion dollars like that very often
