I've just been keeping them in the standard tube, but since they're pure gold, they can get damaged from handling.

    I'm interested in these:

But I've read that there can be a slight variance in size and there's the possibility of a coin becoming stuck, removal almost certainly causing damage. Will going up a millimeter make much of a difference? As long as it won't rattle enough to allow it to become damaged. Any other storage device you'd recommend?

So you have more than one .999 1 oz gold coins worth $1500+ each, and you store them in a tube that will likely mark them?

I would get the 30mm but with the gasket. That will prevent it from becoming stuck or moving around. The gasket will flex enough for any descrepancy in the coins diameter and prevents it from harsh contact with the insides of the capsole. I like the white gaskets myself. It makes for a classy contrast to the gold coin and gives it a special look from your other coins.

Eh, they're fine, it's not like I shake the tube around. They went in, I left them alone.

I get my airtites from valleycoin.com, about 50 cents each. And like saltysam mentioned, get them with the ring which is foamy and will keep them nice and snug.

But seriously, if you're talking about protecting your coins (quite frankly, expensive and valuable coins from what you've mentioned) from damage, are you really gonna complain about a dollar or so? Also, from what I've seen on eBay, you'll likely pay more than what you can find from online retailers or locally.
