Dec 19- $25 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-BU-US-...Individual&hash=item4ab215e7e9#ht_2933wt_1163 Dec 18 $21.45 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-D-US-A...Individual&hash=item336f739879#ht_2269wt_1163 Dec 11 $19.50 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-D-US-A...Individual&hash=item3cbf6a1a60#ht_2269wt_1163 this is the lowest mintage for a modern commem half (by far)- next lowest (1996 Olympic swimmer) has a smaller collector base and a 10,000+- higher mintage- it brings $100+-. This coin went off sale on the USMint website on Dec 16- I for one see this as the key coin to the half dollar modern commem series
That's what makes this coin even more unusual. Besides a low mintage, there is no real intrinsic value, yet it's selling price just keeps going up. I bet you will see an article on it in the next Coin World Magazine.
it is a real American classic - the US Army is as American as it gets- and throw in a minuteman - that is more American than apple pie and Coke-a-Cola- add to that the lowest mintage (by 10K) and you can see why it is skyrocketing
I couldn't agree more, it's given me much more emotional want for a modern coin that I typically only feel for the older pre-1950 stuff. It's a home run layout by the mint designers of the coin and just goes to show it doesn't need to have silver or gold to make it an "appreciating" numismatic piece. I can't find these anywhere locally, and I want one real bad.

Wow, just purchased their last one that isn't a proof. I was surprised they had more proofs than the regular strike examples. Did they make more proofs than the regular strikes?
