About 10yrs ago I stumbled upon a load of old coins at a garage sale. I bought them and just threw them in a closet and forgot about them. Curiousity got the better of me & I brought them out and found out what most of them are except for the one below. I've been trying to find what this is for about 6 months without any hope. The lettering is like nothing I've seen before and this may not surprise the hardcore coin junky, but I find it really odd that the dude on the back is wearing glasses. Does anyone know what this is, where this is from, or has seen it before?
The pic is not very sharp, but I believe that your coin is a "Baht" from Thailand.Date-1974.Value of .15VF - $1.00 UNC.Hope this helps you. Coinman
Hi GrAVeTzT, and to CoinTalk. Not only is "that dude" His Majesty Rama IX, King of Thailand, but he is one of the longest ruling present day monarchs, having been elevated to the throne in 1946. All of his busts through the years have included his glases. BTW, by definition his bust is on the obverse or "heads" side of the coin, not the "back".
