Oh dear, not another one like that. Sounds like my wife. Memory like a trap. And a lawyer (Librarian) to boot. Never......ever .......argue a point with these types. They shoot your eyes out every time.........:)

Why not just own both? :)

When I started collecting I was obsessed with selling and upgrading....keeping just one date/mint for the collection. Then I started finding coins so nice I had to buy them but I couldn't part with my old one because it had it's own merits. So these days I have duplicates, triplicates.....and sometimes 20 of the same date and mint. :D

Those Franklins crept up on me also. I never cared for them for years and all of a sudden one day I just fell in instant awe and love for them! I like the simplicity of the coin and the cameo like appearance of the obverse intrigues me. In reference to your question of Deep Cameo vs. toning, I think I would be drawn to some fantastically toned Franklins due to the fact of their rarity and the heavy demand for colored ones. Happy New Year, by the way. Nice coins posted by you.

There are a lot of toned coins that look very attractive and sell for big $$$, but I still consider them "damaged" (I know many will disagree). Your DCAM is spectacular!!

I have to admit, I'm a sucker for a seated liberty with a nice steel blue perimeter tone!

I'd have to go with the DCAM. I'm not a huge fan of that toning.
