Know what you mean about the statins but have you tried Nettle tea? I have found it helps with lowering cholesterol :D

Sorry never heard of Nettle tea. Where can you find it?

    I found another grading service

I found this slab at http://www.largecents.net I think Tom Deck is on to something. I have emailed and gotten permission from Tom to use this picture to demonstrate how easy it is to "slab" coins and share it with some friends here in CT. Maybe SGS is watching.

Steve I think it was interesting that you were qupting scripture to make your point and come across as maybe not holier than thou but perhaps with some integrity as christians are often afforded that trait as a byproduct of their faith. But, then when it wasn't working you switch to foul language and insults in order to shock people into doing what you want. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. Now EVERYONE knows that you are a chameleon, able to change and shift with the wind as long as you can continue to get your way you will do anything in your power to make it so.
Until your naughty post I was on the fence as to whether you were just a seller who was ignorant of what you were selling or if you knew what you were selling but just didn't care. Now we all know without a reasonable doubt what you are.

Not a chameleon, but rather a edited.

Not that this really pertains to the heart of the thread, but NO drug is completely safe. Penicillin can kill you if you're allergic to it. Tyelenol is extremely deadly if you take too much.
Somehow, it seems that many if not most people in this country have gotten it into their head that if it's approved by the FDA then there is no risk what so ever. Unfortunately this is not true.
However, in most cases, the benefits of the medicines outweigh the small risks.

You shoud ask your doctor about zetia (ezetimibe) if you still have cholesterol problems (granted I'm not a doctor, but I did write a 20 page paper on the synthesis and mode of action of this drug, and review of the clinical trials). It's not a statin, but has a very interesting mode of action. With all drugs come risks, and statins do pose a slightly higher risk than a lot of drugs, but considering the benefits they stay on the market.

Okay guys, enough about medications. This is CoinTalk, not DrugTalk.

Please confine this thread to its coin-related subject. If you feel an irresistable urge to demonstrate your knowledge of pharmacology, just take it to the General Discussion forum.

    Re: New Grading Service

As far as the new "slab", here is a link to the graphic:

    http://www.largecents.net/graphics/bozoslab.jpg

    A few notes:

    (1) The slab label is fake. The grade and the actual coin photo are REAL. This was pulled from an actual eBay auction.
    (2) Yes, that is a Coin World logo at the bottom of the slab. (I added the text... :))
    (3) These "slabs" can easily be opened and re-sealed, making it easy to swap coins.

    Buyer beware.

    Ah, now we're getting somewhere...

NO MORE PHARMACOLOGY STATEMENTS IN THIS THREAD. GO TO THE GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM IF YOU INSIST ON DISCUSSING THAT TOPIC That applies to EVERYBODY.

Now Steve (or former Ebay ID warrengasci) you know that I've read up on you and Linda. You may remember that I also was booted off the Ebay board after the most recent dust-up. It was when your wife Linda came to your defence and asked the other board posters to "stop beating up on poor Stevie...go home and play nice." It was really cute, I'm sure she must really love you.

    Edited

Just a bit of friendly advice....

In the middle of all that has been said so far in this thread, I thought that this comment stuck out as one of the oddest. If there is a more obvious attempt to change the subject and divert attention away from the topic at hand, I can't think of one.

I think that the sheer number of different user names used by certain individuals is a telling sign of some shaky ethical standards. WOW! Shifty coin dealers, who'd a guessed that? It is part and parcel in the coin business as anyone who has collected coins for any amount of time can tell you. When you make the leap from collecting coins to buying and selling coins you are forced to climb in bed with the devil and play by his rules. You had better have a firm grasp of your core ethics before you take the plunge as opposed to developing them as you go or you may end up in a place you can't defend and didn't want to be in the first place.

I'm easily more amazed at how long it took to identify a trader in our mist"figuratively speaking, than the fact that the dishonesty exists within the ranks of our shared numismatic community. Midas, Stevesgiftshoppe, whatever you go by, you have never been shy about expressing your opinion and your point of view and getting right up in peoples faces as long as I've been part of this community. With such strongly worded opinions and your attempt to overtly bully opponents, you can't logically expect much sympathy from the community that has long tolerated your abuses. I'm sure you still have some supporters among the community and maybe they can help you to see the error of your ways. Either that or they will enable your position to the point of undermining their own. Hard to really tell what some folks will do. I guess what it comes to is "Live by sword, die by the sword".

Every individual has the capacity to decide right from wrong and those that don’t more often than not end up behind bars or at least dangling in front of the court system. We also have the ability to rationalize our choices and to justify any actions that we may take that run askew of predominant ethical standards. We run the risk and live with the consequences every day of our lives in both the big and the small decisions we make. This is how we are judged by society and deemed either a worthy member or a rogue member. With all of the knowledge you have to impart to those new to coin collecting, it would be a shame to have society deem you as the latter.

To be honest, so many IDs have been thrown around in this thread, I'm not entirely sure who is who anymore. Maybe someone could post a list of who is who and shed some light on this. I'll start

I have two IDs that I use Moen1305 and a new one on ebay called coinchap.

    Just for the record:
    • Midas joined CoinTalk in April, 2005, a month before Moen135, and 13 months before Stevesgiftshoppe
    • All three use different Internet Providers. The providers used by Midas and Steve provide services in different geographical areas.
