Looks odd, sold "as is" by a seller with feedback of only 9. Three strikes against. Stay away from this one.

Fake or not, with a picture like that I wouldn't bid on it. You can't see it properly.

    Looks real to me.

Everyone starts out with 0 feedback, so never taken someone's feedback number into consideration.

Says "as is", which means your buying the coin by the way it looks.

When you buy on eBay you get buyer protection.

Is ebay paying you to spew this kind of crap or do you sell items like this?

I rarely dismiss a seller out-of-hand. Some of the best deal I've gotten on eBay have been from auctions that nobody else looks at. I see that his nine (9) feedbacks are for the purchase of baseball equipment. I would ask him to send you detailed pictures of the coin...Obv & Rev. A coin predator wouldn't do that, but someone trying to minimize eBay fees might.

Bottomline, you can't make a decision without better pictures. It could be this is a kid that came by this coin (somehow) and doesn't know what it is...and only needs $50 for more baseball equipment.

Detecto - do you even buy on eBay? I have nearly 15 years experience on eBay.

There is no way to tell if it's real from that image.
The guy has never sold anything and has never left feedback for anyone.
Why worry with the risk of a deal like this?

Or this could be someone who knows exactly what he's doing and is trying to take advantage of someone who doesn't know what he's getting into.

Doesn't cost anything to ask him to email better pics...or post them somewhere like PhotoBucket. :thumb:

If he doesn't comply...just walk on by.

Besides...even in the Best Case scenario...you're not going to bid on a coin if you can't see the other side.

I think you are supposed to be 18 to maintain an eBay account. No kids are supposed to be scamming - er I mean selling on eBay.

Once you reach 50, the term "kid" covers a wide range. :grandpa:

I think the main problem here is the image. Its too small and there are no pictures of the reverse. Factor in the feedback and it raises too many red flags. It would be much better if he had a return policy too.

Actually you can. It's a fake the lettering font is wrong. The M, A, and T should all have serifs (feet) not just be stick figures.

Yea it's pretty clearly a fake . The details are too crude when compared next to a genuine example.

Yes, even with the lousy picture it is easily identified as one of the cheap souvenir replicas.
