I live near reading pennsylvania and I am new at looking for Double Dies does anyone know someone nearby that can help me. also is there anyone who has a clear picture of a 1996 DDO?
I don't collect Lincolns after 1958 but I didn't realize there was a '96 DDO. Do you mean 1995? Lance.
http://www.conecaonline.org/content/...997.html#_1996 I have read some things written on it but really need someone to help me truely understand double dies. I go through boxes of cents and have just started to look for die varieties
There are a lot of different year memorials with DDOs. Most are minor and not searched for a lot. To the OP, here's a good site to check yours against. http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php
Welcome to the forum. As for looking for Double Dies you'll never find them (unless you find two dies) because there is no such a thing. There are however Doubled Dies and many of them. Here are some 1996 Doubled Dies that are listed. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/dateguide.php?date=1996
no it is a 1996 I tried to post a link to the coneca listing. I guess it needs to be reviewed by this site or something hopefully the link is posted.
thank you rockdude the link was very helpful and I'm sorry I omitted the "ed" but I'm glad you still knew what I ment
Yes, there are many memorial years with doubling. But as far as I knew 1996 was mostly notable for its wide AM. Lance.
Last i heard the '96 WAM was just a rumor and there has never been one actually certified. There is a '96 DDO however, I do know that.
Well there you go. This is why collectors should know the series before collecting (or opining!). I'll go back to my wheaties now. Lance.
