Today I picked up a 1967 Guide to US Coins for one whole dollar.

Kinda neat to read the old prices.

Bring it to a show and tell the dealer you will pay full price from your book!

What's even sadder is I started collecting coins before that book was published and I didn't stock up on coins at those prices. I distinctly remember ads in CoinAge magazine that offered "BU" Liberty Double Eagles for $60 (only 3X face) and I never bought one. Of course, I was only 12 years old in 1967 and I could not afford many of the higher-priced coins in that Red Book.

I've heard that some collectors collect old price guides. Maybe the book itself could be of some value?
