About 3 weeks ago I purchased a 1906-P VF Barber Half. The seller sent me a 1906-O VF Barber Half. He contacted me via eBay message and explained that he accidently sent my coin to someone else, and sent me that person’s 1906-O. Even though the O was worth more money, I did the right thing and sent it to him. Finally after about 2 weeks my coin arrived. It is the one advertised, but we were under the agreement that he would pay for the shipping from when I had to send him the wrong coin. He never did. This might sound stupid, but would this warrant "Neutral Feedback?" I have never given anyone negative or neutral feedback, but this transaction was such a headache.

I would contact the seller, and explain that you did the right thing and returned the coin he wrongly shipped you. That doing so cost you a certain amount of money, and would he please credit your paypal (I'm assuming you paid via paypal) for that amount. You might state that you would hate to leave less than positive feedback due to this.

  4. Did you message them about the agreement to pay the shipping? They might have forgotten.

I'd say try to settle with person always before leaving non-positive feedback. Yeah, it was a headache, sure these things happen, but at least you got your coin and if you didn't pay too much out of pocket for the extra shipping back and forth, it's almost just a "walk away happy" type scenario without leaving any feedback.

Look at it this way, big corporate retailers don't always pay for the return shipping when you order online. Even Apple will tell you to suck it up when your Mac Book is gone for 10 weeks or longer while they're fixing it, without any compensation, loaner, etc. ;)

Rodeoclown, The difference here is that he put out the money to correct the errors of the seller and the seller should have compensated for that. He could have kept the higher value coin and the seller would have had a very unhappy customer on the other end, but he did the right thing. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished...

JCB give the seller a chance to make good, if he refuses then a neg is in order.

Good to hear others opinions. All in all I got a VF Half Barber at a good price. I can't bring myself to leave nuetral or negative feedback. Who knows we might do transactions in the future, and I might make a mistake. Thanks.

If the seller had agreed to give you back the money for s.h and he hasn't I would ask him too. After all how would he feel if you refused to send back the more valuable coin? He's the one that made the mistake, so he should refund you the s.h you used to send it back to him.
Also I'm the kind of person that don't believe in neutral feedback. The feedback system is used to help other buyers. A neutral doesn't help as most buyers ignore it, if you don't want to leave a positive leave a negative.
