So excited to be here. This is my first posting although I have been reading these forums since I started collecting a mere 3 months ago. Hopefully, I followed directions properly and my pics are clear enough.
What I have is a 1960 D Lincoln cent that appears to have a zinc colored coating. I say it is a coating because on close inspection, it appears that some of the coating has been scraped off, most especially around the rim on both sides. I have posted a pic of the cent by itself, and also alongside a bright cent, and a chocolate colored cent to show as much of the contrast as I could. The whitish looking area behind the head and shoulders is from my lighting.
I am not sure this would be considered an error, but I posted here just in case. Thanks in advance for any insight, and for the great reads!

All I see is a dirty, tarnished coin. Don't think this would classify as an error coin.

Could have been zinc coated, There is a clip somewhere here telling you how to do it. It might also be mercury coated. Used to do that when I was a kid - before they figured just how bad mercury really is today.

    BTW, welcome to the forum!

That may work, but that is not the one I was thinking of. I believe desertgem posted it and it was a clip from youtube (I believe).
