In going through my paper currency I found a 2 dollar bill, with only 3 digits present. Could this be worth something? I can get a picture up if need be. TYVM. ~Jason
Ya a picture will be needed. EDIT: Basically a picture will always be needed when asking about an error.
Yeah, it could be worth as much as two whole dollars! You'll put up a picture "if need be"? 569 posts and you still don't know that a picture is ALWAYS necessary?
That's 4 digits.....why wouldn't zeros count? Of course they do. No premium. That is a nice red seal though!
**DOH.. I believe the red is a 1953. Should I get it framed? Also could somone please look at my other thread (chinese currency)? TY
I have several 1953 red seals. Am I missing something or why would you want to feature it in a frame? It's not an extremely high valued note, maybe a $100+ if it was a star note, low $20's otherwise. That would be in an Uncirculated-63 condition.
Hey I have a couple of $2 red seals in a frame! Nothing wrong with that? I have it framed with several other red, green, blue, and 8 subject uncut sheet... Looks freaking awesome... I even have a common 1976 two dollar note framed with a matching picture of the signing of the declaration or the meeting of five or what ever it's actually called...
That's enough reason for sure. I thought maybe there was some type of error involved or some history about the note that would add more value to it. But I would agree, just for the enjoyment of ownership is enough to prominently display it. I have a good representation of my notes in two display cabinets. They serve as a background to my displayed coins. I rotate them and my coins about twice a year, so over a period of time, they all can be enjoyed. I make it a point however, to leave many of the higher priced pieces in the safe deposit box and only a few out at a time. They are for my eyes only. Other than immeadiate family, not even my neighbors know they exist.
I really like those old $2 bills, love the Monticello rather than the signing of the DOI. I don't have any myself, but have been looking at getting one. Especially the red seal.
Gosh I'm having one of those days, $2 small blue seal?(Though I do have a framed collage of $5's with red, green, and blue seals) and for the world I can't remember where I read it, but it's not actually the signing of the declaration but rather the drafting of meeting. We've all excepted what it is... Here's a quick photo of my framed $2 to give you ideas. Sorry for all the reflection on the glass, but we still have Christmas stuff still up. I did it with a $5 wood frame from Wal-mart, and you can pick up construction paper at Staples. Get a good slide ruler, and have at it... I should of through in some matching stamps now that I think about it!
I bought these ready-made presentations for cost at a coin show a couple of years ago. Not really valuable but still interesting:
