First thing that comes to mind is that it needs to be reholdered, and maybe the white balance is off. Just from my observations it might be a PF67. Not too much of a fan of the washington quarters though.
Yeah, it is just sandwiched between some thin cardboard. I used a different camera for this one, I'm not sure it's much better. I have three cameras and none are good with autofocus on close-ups. I need to pick up an DSLR one of these days.
You will get better results if you take the coins out of the 2X2s to take the photos. (Note the glare on the plastic windows of the 2X2s.)
There is a coin shop the next town over. I'll have to pop in there and pick up a plastic holder. I'll reshoot the coin after I pick that up. Thanks fellas.
If this helps at all as far as the value, I sold one on eBay not too long ago. It was probably near or the same grade and I got $9.75 for it.
that would be what a PF 54 is, a diminished proof. Personally, I think that's waaay off base. It appears to be your average 1960 Proof Washington. Maybe a PF-65 or so. there also appears to be a dark brown toning spot ( a tiny dot) at 7 o'clock on the obverse. All in all, it's a nice coin. Not the 1804 dollar, but it's a nice proof washer.
That is actually a spot on the plastic cover. When I get a better case I'll take it out and reshoot it.
I agree...I think it's an average 1960 Proof quarter. Not a bad coin at all. I don't see any cameo in it...but I would say it's probably a PF65 or so. I like it. Also, Kittrell...welcome to CT. It's always nice to see other Oregonians here!
Perhaps Mr. Ricky missed the '6'? As said before it appears to be your average proof, probably a 64/5, I'd see it selling at $6-7. Welcome to CoinTalk Kittrell!:welcome:
Swung by the shop this afternoon. "Closed for yearly inventory. Open December 31st, hopefully. Call first." Thanks for the welcome...........
