We use these tokens as promo in the shop. We give them out to customers as business cards and we include them in our packages ordered on the web. They are made by the Patrick Mint. They make "business card tokens" for various kinds of businesses. The owner of the mint happens to be a good friend of mine and I was able to convince him to have his die cutter do a small eagle reverse on a silver plated planchet for my shop. This piece is slightly smaller then a US half dollar. This is what just arrived in the mail for us. These are the very first of this design to be made. Waddaya think?
I was thinking the same thing! I'm also looking forward to getting one of Charmy's new 1/2oz copper store cards at FUN. Chris
Just PM me if you want one. I'll get cha one. We have had 4 different designs... let me see if I can find the others and get some pics.
Here are the last 2 we had. These are out of my personal collection as I have given the rest of them out.
Very nice Matt. I have some Patrick Mint tokens (all related to coin collecting) that I picked up over the years. They do nice work as evidenced by your pieces. Bruce
So if.... ya know... was to umm.... maybe send you...like my adress...you could, I dont know.... maybe like possibly....send me one?
Matt: I have to say, that is the first of this design that I have seen. Very cool! [um, could I get on the list?]
I haven't gotten Matt's yet because I haven't seen him at a coin show. But I have a couple of others, Ernie Latter and Coins and Stamps Inc - I keep them as pocket pieces because the first is a Abraham Lincoln CWT and the other is a 1794 Large Cent. Unlike business cards that get dropped away in some forgotten drawer these tokens are with me constantly. Not to mention that I see the information about the dealers often from looking at how my tokens are toning and wearing in my pocket.
I am traveling this week but know that my order from Lost Dutchman arrived and is awaiting my return. I look forward to seeing this in hand! -L
