    Hi Everyone!

I had posted in another section, but was told this might be a better area to post... so I am re-posting (Hope I am doing this right)

I ran across a penny today that looks like something I have never seen before. A guy at work told me that it might be rare. I am not a collector and really do not know anything about this sort of thing. I ran across this forum and was told you might be able to help. I am attaching a photo and look forward to your response. Thanks! :)

Looks like some glue. Try some acetone to remove it.

Thank you for the reply. I don't think it is glue. It is more like two pennies, you can feel the edge. Very strange. Here is the reverse side. Maybe nothing at all, or as you said, damaged at some point after it was made? Very neat either way :)

Any reason you've created another thread similar to "1994 Penny, Maybe Double Stamped?"?

I guarantee you'll get all of the information you need with only one thread.

His reasoning is that somebody recommended he put it in the error coins section.

A glue like substance left the impression of another coin on your coin

The reverses rim also shows the rim damages, possibly caused by clamps possibly used to hold the coin while it was hammered? Still PMD to me no matter how it was done.

rockdude IMO you and a few others have nailed this one perfectly. It is easy for me to see that something like glue has got in between two coins and someone has broken them apart. look at how nicely the glue or whatever substance it is has protected the coin's surface underneath it. I think I will cover my coins with glue and about 100 years from now someone can remove the glue and have a perfect coin. LOL
