1970 nickle

    I have found what I believe is a 1970 s over d jefferson nickel, but there isn't one listed in the 65th edition of the official red book. I would like to know what you think.

    I can see what you are referring to but suspect that the D is too small.

    Perhaps forwarding it to CONECA for examination is warranted?

    I agree with Ricky. All I'm seeing is a filled "S".

    It looks like it is an S mintmark, but I understand the D over S

    It looks like a filled "D" in the top photo and a filled "S" in the second photo. Take your pick.

    D would be more common D- 515,485,380 S- 238,832,004

    I just got a blue book for Christmas. And i just learned about the filled.

    Agreeing with the filled 'S' statement... Definitely no OMM. :yes:

    Also, just for the record, it's "N-I-C-K-E-L".
