I had that 97-P in my track list, but I am trying to stay away from the VF30's. It's tough though. It was just a common 15-D he had on his site for a while. I finally gave in to it. Here is the 15-P I just bought. Not a rare by any means, but better looking than most of the 15-P's you see at this grade level and in problem-free holders.
I posted this one on the newest acquisitions thread earlier this month, but not here on the Barber lover's thread. I really like it.
Here is a nice proof barber dime I just picked up. It is a very good looking coin and seems very close to cameo too in hand. Looks like a few microscopic hairlines really killed the grade on this one, but it has the look of a 63-64 in my opinion!
I love the blue and pink shades of tone that these barbers get. I think that is a beautiful coin! I bet it looks incredible in hand rev. I love that coin! Thank you for sharing!
What do you guys think about this key date? She appears to have had an old cleaning, yet still has overall nice eye appeal. Should I make an offer? If so, how much? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1897-O-FINE...67?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item336f5fb77f
Personally, that coin is barely a fine coin if at all. You can find a problem free VG10 for half the money if you are patient enough. You could probably find a better detailed fine coin problem free for the same amount of money they are asking or maybe less. I would pass and be patient for the right coin.
Great advice. I need to overcome the impulse to just fill a hole, and rather focus on quality. I'm down to 7 coins, and I'll wait for the right coin to fill these last holes. Thanks guys.
