...for melt value. With the price of silver up I was thinking of selling the 200 silver dimes I have found with my metal detector. They are mainly mercs and rosies. Common dates. How would I go about doing this? Thanks, Jim
Probably Ebay if you are willing to do a little work. That would probably net the highest price, just about melt value in most cases. If you have an honest coin dealer near you he will give you something a little less than melt value [maybe 80%+ I would guess] which is a fair deal for junk silver considering the work he will save you.
I agree with ebay. I go to a lot of coin shows and the dealers are always buying lots of junk Silver for far less than Silver prices per pound. Go with ebay.
offer them for sale in the open forum here, I expect that some of our members are buying during the most recent lull in price.
If you have a good coin dealer near you, you should be able to get about 80 cents each from him. Charlie
