I believe this is a 1989 Lincoln cent. Although the nine is not complete I'm pretty sure it is a 9. Now, is it the 1988 that has the reverse of 89? Or vice versa? Is the weak lettering on the obverse caused by the off-center or is it a worn die issue? On the reverse, is that oxidation on the top of the lettering? The t&a in States looks like the same thing. Is weighs 2.5. ty.. IMG_20221226_101007486.jpg IMG_20221226_100647512.jpg

    Yes, it’s a zinc cent dated 1989.

And it's the 88 with the 89 reverse you want to look for.

That's a Misaligned Die Strike. It's not the reason why the 9 is not fully formed.

    Don't over think it.

It just a die that had compacted grease on the 9 and didn't allow the 9 to be fully formed when it struck the blank copper plated zinc planchet.

So it's a grease filled,ok. What's the difference in looking at a grease filled and let's say a worn die or over polished die? And doubledie.com is kind of hard to maneuver around there. Any suggestions? Much appreciated..
