Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

Question as to what you would pay for this example.
A person on Craigslist is asking $20 for it, any opinions if I should pass or jump on it?

$25 is my spending limit, but I do see a lot of problems with the coin, but would like a better example than mine.

Not really looking for a high quality, but it is definitely an upgrade to my 1884-S :p

Apparently I missed out on some excitement on another thread. And why is this rant posted on this thread? I thought we were talking about Carson City Dimes.

Drama. And might I get your opinion on this, Hobo?

I would not buy the coin. It's damaged. You can find something much better for that amount of money.

Personally I like the '84-S better. It has good, honest wear and the surfaces are not damaged. The only advantages the '77-CC have are it is a Carson City coin and it has more details (less wear) but it comes with really unattractive surfaces and a bit of damage. With the '77-CC I think you are paying extra for the CC mintmark but you are getting an unattractive coin.

If all you want to do is upgrade to a nicer coin for your type set I would suggest that you consider buying a nice F or VF non-CC SL Dime with attractive surfaces. That shouldn't set you back a whole lot.

Is there any dealers here on CT that would help me find "the one"? I mean my budget is $25 at the most, but I would like a mid-grade coin to put in a type set, but also like the CC mintmark. I don't have a CC, I do have a O mintmark on my 1907-O Barber Dime, but that is going in my mintmark series I made up.

Since you say the 1884-s doesn't have damaged surfaces, Hobo, do you think it would grade? If so, Would it go as a p-2 or a FR-03? Is it worth it to try to sell to a low-ball registry person?
