I picked up $5.00 in pennies the other day, and I only found two wheats and a '64 Canadian penny.

    unusual rolls?

I went through two rolls of cents and two rolls of nickles today that were a little unusual.
    In the cents I found
    1- 60d AU
    1-68d AU
    1-71s MS
    1-73d MS
    4-76 MS each 76 was counter-stamped 1-TN 1-AZ 1-WA 1-OK all with the state outlines.

    Nickles
    1- 46
    1- 46d
    1-53
    1-54d
    2-54
    1-57
    1-57d
    1-60d
    1-62
    1-68s
    1-70s
    1-76d AU

They were fun to go through.:thumb:

The most successful I ever had was about a year ago when I bought all the halves at a local bank branch. Out of that $30 worth, I would venture to say about 5% were 90% silver and another 20% were 40% silver. That was a good day. The next day, I went to another branch of that same local bank and only got 1 half-dollar that was 40% silver out of about $300 worth. That sucked.

I have been through hundreds of rolls of cents and have never found a counter- stamped state cent. Nice find on the nickels also very good for 4 rolls keep searching there still out there.

Just finished searching two boxes of halves. The search resulted in 16 40% halves.

Yesterday I came across a steelie (in poor shape) and an AU red '57 cent. Pretty dang lucky that it hadn't seen much use in all these years!

Where I work as a cashier I essentially get to search rolls for free at the beginning of my shift, lol. Only have to pay face value for what I keep... check the change rolls my drawer starts with. It seems about every other day the dime rolls have 2 or 3 silver Roosevelts in them. Definitiely a great way to start the day... have recieved 11 silver Roosevelts at face value so far since working there. Decided to get a Whitman folder for the dimes and see how many silver dimes I can fill just from circulation.

I went through 6 rolls of cents today and only found 1 wheat cent, a 47, but I found 3-73S's that were all red AU and MS. I also found another1976 counterstamped, this one had ME on it with the state outline.

Just completed searching through two boxes of halves and found 5 40% Kennedys, four gold plated Kennedys with 1960 and 1980 stamped on the face, 1 bu 1989 d and one 1989 s. I know that the gold plated ones probably have no extra value, but they're in very nice shape and someone probably paid more than face value for them. I'll put them away for now. The proof shows some wear, but again I got it at face value so it to becomes a keeper for now. Does anyone now anything about the gold plated, counterstamped Kennedys? Where they somekind of tribute set, etc? Any info will be appreciated.Thanks.

Looked through $15 worth of cents and found 8 canadian, a 1972-S and a 1975-S in AU+. About 7 1959-D's and of course one wheat cent dated 1957.
Definitely not worth the gas to get there.

I pulled a 1962 Franklin Proof from a roll last week. I haven't gotten a chance to give it a "bath" yet, but it sure could use one.

Just finished sifting through a bag of 5000 today. Ended up with 1430 coppers and 15 Canadians, including a 1957 and 1959. Of the zincs, I pulled out two nicely toned BUs, a 1995D and 1983. There was one BU 1959D and 12 wheaties in the bunch (1958D x2, 1956, 1955D, 1952D, 1946D, 1946, 1945, 1939S, 1936, 1928, and the big one in the bunch, a 1924D!)

Will go through the whole bunch again looking for DDOs, RPMs, and varieties. But I have two more bricks to finish through first :)

Went to a Trustco bank, asked for $20 worth of dollar-coins (five short of a full roll). In it, I found a 1999-D and a 1980-S (which were only proofs that year? I don't know-- "S" mints are a nice find anyway). Those are the first SBA's not from 1979 that I found. The 1980 looks nice~n~circulated.

1980-S SBA dollars were minted in both business strike and proof. In fact the 1980 S SBA dollar was the last coin that San Francisco ever minted for general circulation. All the SBAs minted in 1981 were only released in special mint and proof sets. In 1999 San Francisco didn't mint any SBAs. Denver only minted business strikes that year; Philadelphia minted them both in business strike and proof. 1999 proof sets don't contain the SBA proof; the mint sold the proof SBA separately.

Last month I got 10 rolls of dimes. They were all 2005P. Pretty repetitive. Saved a half roll.Took them to a coin show and got 3 new Silver Eagles for $15 each paid for with rolls of dimes.
Three banks said they don't carry half dollars. One teller told me a branch that has rolls of half dollars.
Went today and got $120 worth.
Stopped for gas and broke a roll open.
The very first coin was a 1776-1976 with Independence Hall Reverse.
Came home and found 9 more 1776-1976 half dollar coins.

Also found a 1982S Cameo Proof.
That puppy has been around but still looks decent.
Then came along a 1966,1967,1968 and 1969 all in the same roll!
Put aside a couple choice 2000P halfs that look great.
    1971s like crazy, 1972s also.
This I am doing again. What fun and easy pickins. Gas stations will have a good supply of half dollars from now on.
