I've just gotten back online after being shut down by a nasty virus called Vista2012. It acts like an anti virus software, but quickly takes over every keystroke of your computer. Unfortunately, all my attribution material which I had put together on line is now gone as are all my photos of my coins. I hope to rebuild some and recover some pictures from photobucket, but I'm down for a while. This is something to remember as you think about whether to accumulate old fashioned books for references or go with electronic references. Merry Christmas to all!!!
Marshall that really sucks. If for some unfortunate reason that happens again Malwarebytes.org (the free version) will remove it Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you and yours
Sorry to hear that, Marshall. I was starting to miss you 'Large Cent tip # XX ' threads. A Merry Christmas to you, and to all!
That is awful. If/When you can rebuild it, you might get a flash drive just for large cents. I was hoping you would publish all of your attributions and research.
Marshall, to cheer you up a little, here is a large cent I got a few weeks ago. I am sure you can attribute it with your eyes shut.
I only had my financial records backed up. Everything else was lost when I was forced to install a new operating system in order to wipe out the virus. One thing this does is to encourage me to build a better system this time around. The last one was just a hodgepodge of projects.
Obverse 3 is instantly recognizable without even my books, but I admit that all I knew was it wasn't S-76 without consulting Breen. The S-77 was probable, but I wanted to check out the NCs again to be sure.
