Thanks Duke. I would've liked a little higher grade on the Lafeyette but that gets pricey real quick. Kind of neat that after they made this one in 1899 and they didn't make another Commemorative Dollar until the 80s. Plus I like the look of this one. More interesting trivia, The Alabama is the first U.S. coin to have a portrait of a living person on it.
Great pick ups. The Lafeyette is neat. The reverse of your Laf, I have on a Sate of Georgia Confederate silver medal. Good theme so I will add to the Duet's.
Love the color on the Lafayette. Hope you got a nice holiday deal on both of them. How many more do you need to complete an Early Commemorative type set?
Whoops, should have payed attention and looked at the date. I'll just go out on a limb and say Easter holiday deal
hey Gang. I'm around. Hope you all are doing well. Hey Kook... I've got 5 left to complete the Early Type set. Just picked on a Connecticut the other day. I need the following to complete it. Cincinnati, (music capital of the world!! LOL) Columbian (these are common but I'm picky. Its a cool coin. I want a nice one) Missouri (Daniel Boone was a man, a BIG man....) Monroe (I love the design on this one but the strike is really weak on most of them) Washington-Carver (sooooo many to choose from) Hope you all had a great Christmas.
