Hmm, a somewhat vague question. Any particular areas, geographic or numismatic, that you are interested in? Christian
I am looking for some silver bullions but not many of them ship worldwide. Do you know of any? thanks Eric
Well, here are a few - in alphabetical order - that I have bought from before. They all are reliable as far as I can tell (which does of course not mean that others are not ) but do not necessarily focus on bullion. Beutler http://www.beutler-muenzen.de/ Gorny & Mosch http://www.gmcoinart.de/ Honscha http://www.emuenzen.de/verkauf/shop.php Künker http://www.kuenker.de/onlineShop.asp MDM http://www.mdm.de/shop/action/ Mehlhausen http://www.muenzauktion.com/mehlhausen/ Peus http://www.muenzauktion.com/bussopeus/ Ritter http://www.muenzen-ritter.com/ Some of them have English language pages, others don't. You could also try and search www.muenzauktion.com and www.ma-shops.com where many dealers offer their coins ... Christian
Hi Christian Thanks for the info. Really appreicate it. I've went through the list and most of them are dealing in numismatics. beutler-muenzen.de sells bullion but abit on the high side regards Eric
I've been looking for some shops over here in Germany also...I'm in the Cuxhaven-nordholz area of Germany on the northwest coast...anyone know of any close to here? I've tried bremen, bremenhaven, cuxhaven and nordholz on the google search but I admit I'm not really sure how things work over here compared to the states... please help me!
Don't live in that area but, well, Cuxhaven may not be the best place to be when it comes to coin shops. I just checked the dealer list in MünzenRevue (a German coin magazine), and they list one in Bremen and one in Hamburg. Note that this list is not "complete"; dealers pay a small fee to be listed there. Anyway, here we go ... Hanseatische Münzenhandlung, Bremen (this is not their website but a street/quarter site): http://www.fedelhoeren.de/index.php?article_id=5 Emporium, Hamburg (they do mail order but AFAIK have a walk-in store too): http://www.emporium-hamburg.com/ Then I did a brief search for coin dealers in Bremen, and here are some more. Judging from the descriptions, these are mostly stamp/coin dealers. Going there would in my opinion only make sense if you are in Bremen anyway: http://www.suchen.de/kategorie-katalog/muenzen/bremen.html Finally two more tips. In mid-March (17./18.03.) there will be a coin show in Hamburg ... http://www.hanseaticmoneyfair.de/ ... and apparently there is a coin club in Bremerhaven: http://www.muenzenclub-nordsee.de/ Oh, and then there is always the web. Try http://www.muenzauktion.com/ for coin auctions and the sister site http://www.ma-shops.com/ for "stores" with fixed prices, for example ... Christian
I liked the coin and banknotes shops in Munich, but that was years ago. I would recommend viewing www.ma-shops.com that has lists of many reputable dealers in Germany.
thanks alot for the help christian! it's a shame I'm only going to be here in Germany til the 4th of January... I like Germany alot but my original plane ticket was from November 2nd and leaving Germany on January 4th...(since that was when my fiance's internship was to end and she'd be on the plane then too) but now she's gotten it extended til may... at least there is some light from the end of the tunnel being she's extended the internship for special training and will be located in Iowa as the only USA rep for the company...(roughly about 250 miles from where my place is and I can easily move there) anyways I think I will see about Breman or hamburg the day before I have to leave... I want to physically go to 1 or more coin shops and get some coin mementos of my trip here and see about some for my Fiance too! she loves chickens and rabbits and other barnyard animals and so I'm using that to get her into coins...sneaky sneaky... if you or anyone else come up with ideas I'm all ears to them...also christian..where exactly do you live on this side of the pond?
No, you won't. You will spend a day that will be great for both you and her - and that does not involve coins. You can always be sneaky later, hehe. Then again, if you happen to be in Bremen or Hamburg anyway (both are nice places for sightseeing in my opinion), you may of course accidentally come across a coin store. :halo2: By the way, on 2 January (thus shortly before you leave) this commemorative €2 coin will be issued (same design, except for the country name, for all 17 member states): http://ec.europa.eu/economy_finance/images/coins/2012/ten_years_400_de_en.jpg The light blue color should be silverish, like on the regular pieces. Bundesbank branch offices in Bremen and Hamburg for example will have them in rolls (25 pieces, €50). Whether it's worth the effort if you don't collect euro coins, well ... I'm in NW (state of North Rhine Westphalia) by the way, on the Rhine near Cologne/Düsseldorf. There are a few coin dealers around here, but not many - partly because fewer people collect, partly because more coins are purchased online these days. Enjoy your stay! The weather in Cuxhaven won't be worse than in Nebraska these days, I suppose. Christian
