while at the local coin and currency store, I noticed a beat-up silver certificate in the register. (The shop owner often uses interesting low-value stuff as register cash.) here's what was in there, which he let me have for face value: $1 SC 1935A A49585218D : filthy, piece missing from left margin, assorted nicks and rips. some scribbling on the left $1 SC 1935G D16620811J : big piece missing from the center margin from where a rusty paperclip was removed. can see the rust stains. a couple little scribblings $2 USN 1928D C74005943A : filthy, worn smooth, ragged edges with some missing pieces, 'May 1945' in blue pen over the Treasury seal Also $1 SC 1935C M81863564E, but that's just garden-variety wrinkled, and I could use a 1935C for my own collection
As Bart Simpson put it, "craptacular". I heard some people are interested in bills in really bad condition.
