    Hi,
I am wondering if this is worth a premium over book value due to being a woody? It is my first, and I would love to know a little more about them. Are they improper alloy mixtures? And are they technically mint errors?

I'm not to good with woodies, I'm not sure. Ask your self. How much would YOU pay for it?

Premiun, typically not. See your other post.
    improper alloy mixtures - Yes
mint errors - never heard them called that, bu tthere is little consensus as to just what constitutes an error
BTW, Mr. Diamond writes articles on both for Coin World.

Thanks Rlm, now my question is what you consider them?

If you are asking me whether I consider them errors or varieties, I really don't bother. They are simply woodies to me. I do not collect errors or varieties (unless you count 1922's in there). I collect woodies.

They are neither errors nor varieties, they are simply toned. If a untoned woody was well preserved, you would not be able to detect the improper alloy mixture by eye.
