Doing my daily scans, and this one jumped out at me. I've pretty much already made up my mind that I want it, but my question is relating to price. What would you be willing to pay for a WQ of this quality? It is PCGS Slabbed at a grade of MS66. Thank You Very Much.
I'd probably pay no more than $30 for it. I don't buy the tone or the slabs, the nice grade is what makes it worth up to $30 in my opinion.
The color is nice... but the coin is common... and the series is kinda slow right now. I wouldn't pay more then $50-$60.
I think I found the coin up for auction and I'd have to say, their Buy It Now price is outrageous. I don't think making an offer of even $60 would make them come down any. But then again, pay what you think it's worth.
Put me in the $30 camp. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=131137&lotNo=26179 http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=131122&lotNo=26127 http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=211014&lotNo=26787
Thanks again. I'll hold off on this one. Still don't have a very nice example in this series though..
If interested, here's an NGC one with a better Buy it Now price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Washin...26?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item53eaa7fbf6 Maybe it doesn't have the eye appeal that you were looking for, but much more reasonable in price.
Highest I would go, $35. Unfortunately, the market is not supporting FMVs of much of anything coin wise. Last weeks local coin expo I found many dealers had reduced their prices considerably, and were selling a lot at a loss, small losses which add up in time. They were also not buying much of anything either as the majority of what they are seeing is all common stuff.
Man.. my radar is off. That tone on the reverse is stunning. I was willing to go as high as 85 on this one.
