Wheat Penny 1914 D would like to know if it is real or not lol and value

    Sooo a few years back i found this Penny that has a year of 1914 D i just wanted to know if it is real or not. I'm not a coin collector or anything but i am interested to more about it

    That's the most convoluted date I've seen on a cent yet!

    Welcome to the forum. Looks to be a 1944-D that someone filed down to look like a 1914-D. And not a very good job at it I might add.

    Definately a weak attempt at a fake. It's a 1944-D that was altered and then someone tried to conceal the alteration with fake toning.

    You can't possibly look at that date and not know that it's been tampered with...

    I think you should start a jar of "junk" copper. Cents, pre 1982, that are damaged, corroded, etc. that have no numismatic value but are copper weight. Toss that one in the jar.
