1922 peace dollar

    i bought this 1922 peace dollar from a member of ct. i just love this coin didnt even offer a counter offer. wondering what people think of grade and value. when i recieve the coin i can post other pics if needed.

    Maybe it's the pictures but it looks polished. I'm guessing the white balance is off too.

    Nice strike, but like Lance said, the coin has been polished/harshly cleaned.

    If you don't mind sharing, how much did you pay for this coin?

    Well, sorry to say, you overpaid a bit.

    The coin has not circulated much, but the cleaning greatly devalues it to a point where it is basically worth its weight in Silver.

    Occasional overpaying is just the unfortunate part of the learning process... :)

    It looks AU to me due to the hits all over the obverse and the reverse I can't see clearly enough from the small photo to see everything on it. But I do see small pits on the right side of the reverse.

    I'd say value is in the neighborhood of $30-$35.

    I agree with the polished look, and that drops the value down to melt only.
