I got this today pretty cheap. I need help. I know someone people can tell what years it from by looking at the outline, like a Young Head, Matron Head, etc. Also note the reverse. Are those "rays" pmd? Also note CENT is rotated slightly from ONE. There is no line below cent, but it could have worn off. Thanks.
1839 Booby head - yes cent is normal. Not sure what rays you are talking about, but everything I see is PMD.
A few years earlier or a few years later,and that would have been quite a bit harder. However, that's one of the few coins that's easy to spot from across the room. Booby head. Mark nailed it. Here's what one looks like with some more meat (N-11):
Also the large cents with a line under cent are older. I know a couple tricks when looking through culls hee hee.
