You can't make this stuff up:D!

Seller breaking counterfeit Morgans out of the bad slabs to sell them as money clips; typical 1881-CC fake but another different cert number:

881-CC cert.jpg And the genuine example as a sanity check:

Seller stated he had multiples of 2 different dates with this 1883-CC:

    1883 clip.jpg

Reverse matches the '81-CC, which is wrong for both; '83-CC VAM's:

    1883-CC VAM mm's.jpg

Matches one I had in my reference file; glad I don't collect Morgans!

Why would anyone believe that an MS $1 was broken out to make a money clip?

The better question is why would you care what grade their money clip is?

Merry Christmas to you too, but since youre back on that how many people do you think actually care if someone makes a money clip out of a fake? Its a nothing burger

Then why bother screwing up a post you have no interest in; just move on with your nothing burgers...

Why not just block everyone who doesnt just sing your praises if thats all you want in your posts?

YOU started the snarky exchange without being interacted with

Merry Christmas, hopefully I wont be living rent free in your head anymore in the new year

It's not a nothing burger to those who think further ahead about where the fake Morgan Dollar eventually ends up after being bought in the belt buckle.

That would actually take thought @ToughCOINS ! And we found a counterfeit 1883-CC as a result of following up the '81-CC.

Its almost like people should be buying graded coins of value if they arent an expert. Who would have ever guessed

Trinkets being fakes is a nothing burger and people arent going to look for an obscure thread before buying a damaged coin in a jewelry piece or taken from one. Publish it for the TPGs where they would actually see it or better yet talk to experts directly to alert them and exchange information instead of being passive aggressive over a harmless comment that actually made a lot of sense in the "think ahead" world

Sure looks like the coin is easily removed from the clip without damaging it, almost as if the seller could read the minds of other unscrupulous sellers.

I think you’d find yourself in the minority on this issue.

Seems he always is; checking back he hasn't posted an original post himself since 2019...

The unscrupulous sellers would just go to the source and not pay that price.

Maybe on this site but that doesnt change the fact that people should be buying graded coins for expensive coins if they arent an expert in that series and faked trinkets really dont matter. Someone buying that is very likely just looking for a deal which they may or may not have been encouraged to do so or just wants some trinket they enjoy.

I would have kept the obvious to myself had it not been for an instigation. For whatever reason I seem to be rent free in someones head and I do hope that they either get help or can move on in the new year.

I find this both sad and amusing. And I'm not talking about the coin/money clip. Seems like somebody is itching to get banned from yet another forum.

Just because you only lurk in this one forum doesn't mean others aren't publishing and communicating in many other venues...

Maybe you should broaden your horizons and snipe some other sites!

Lol. Hopefully you you get the mental help to get over whatever petty grudge this seems to be

It also doesn’t change the fact that someone eventually will get hurt by these, and that is not a nothingburger.

Which doesnt change the fact that someone will eventually get hurt by literally everything and dealers advising people to just trust them is a huge issue in the hobby. Fake trinkets are a nothing burger

Jack D Young is doing members a service with this thread. It seems you are being adversarial, adding nothing constructive at all.

Do we need a third party to certify your opinion, or should we just trust you?
