Will an Air tite stop further toning?

I have an ASE I picked up with amazing toning. A bright bronze burst over the sun, and and gentle foggy haze drifting across the rest of the bottom of the coin. I want to keep the toning AS IS. If it continues to develop it will ruin the affect. How to I freeze this coin in time? Will an Air Tite do the job?

An airtite (tm) is not air tight ( nor is a slab). It will slow the process down enormously, but so much depends on your environment and storage, that it might not. If the airtite, or almost any holder or slab is put into a good quality ziplock food type bag and sealed, it should maintain it for decades.

You might also put some silica gel in the ziplock as well and store it in a cool temperature controlled area. Toning requires moisture to proceed and it happens faster at higher temperatures.
