The temptation to take a pot shot overwhelms the sensibility to leave a sleeping (fact withholding) dog lie.......
Folks I made a honest mistake when I said a error expert looked at my coins. I keep getting error and variety mixed up which is easy for any of us to do when we are talking. actually he is a die variety expert. even though I never mentioned his name on this thread like some of you have been trying to force me into doing are now trying to drag him into this by calling and emailing him. please leave the expert out of it . this is very sorry of the ones of you that did this . This was a private matter and you had no right to bother this man.
use some that don't have the little cutter thing on them. then take a small piece of cloth and put it in between 2 cents. put your pliers on the coin, and press as hard as you can. should do about the same thing. Mizozuman2
Yeah, I don't think anyone really cares. It's interesting that every year some new collector will come on here and bring this same subject up and believe beyond all common sense that they have found some highly collectible error. I've seen these threads come up again and again. Live and learn. funny!
How many of you in your little anti new member group or whatever you all think you are will offer me a apoligy if you see this coin in a authenticated NGC slab in about a month or so from now ? I have told every one of you that a unusal coin can not be declared as PMD or a real variety or error coin from just looking at images of it on the internet. sure the well known and easy to see ones can be but not the unusal and not very well known ones. a coin has to be checked out in hand in many different ways to make sure it is not a PMD coin before going any farther with it. then if it is a real variety or error coin it needs to be determined how it was created at the mint. how many great coins do you think your little "think you know it all group" has been caused to be thrown away or spent because of the usual PMD thing? try to calm down folks and some other members may decide to show their coins on here after they see it is ok.I don't mind what you say to me but some folks don't like this.
and sometimes mischievous people come on here and make ridiculous and far-fetched statements all in an effort to get people's danders up and get the board buzzing. It's called trolling and it's been an olympic sport for years on the internet. This troll in particular has gotten everyone going in not one, but count 'em, two threads about the same thing! and trust me, you've made his entire day by doing so! You're playing into his hands by commenting or otherwise jumping into the fray. It's exactly what Jay, I mean the troll wants. I know it's fun to jump in and take a pot shot, but trust me, the only thing that you do is encourage people like this troll to do it more. The best thing to do is let the single correct answer - that this is PMD - stand on its own and not try to convince the troll that it's not. It's exactly what he wants and if you feed the troll, don't complain when it returns every day for feeding.
Ya know something Rascal, I saw your other thread, and I do apologize for what I have said, and I hope you can forgive me, but you don't have to be rude to everyone that thought it was PMD. They have the right to their opinion, just like any other human being on the planet. so, how about an apology from YOU, for this comment that offends several people with your profiling of members the members here on CoinTalk.
