A Brillo pad would do well for that coin.

There is nothing desirable about this toning. Sorry. In fact, I am not so sure it's toning as much as it is dirt/grime or some other foreign substance.

No reason to clean your coin, IMO, it is worth melt value right now and after you clean it it will be worth melt value, so why bother?

IMO its worth its value in melt. and to me its almost like it wasnt toned, rather just dirty such as kookoox10 said. and i wouldnt bother with cleaning it or anything, leave it as is, cleaning it wont increase value, may increase looks but nothing else.

I like the back; the front, not so much. It almost looks like wood grain from that angle. I guess it's appealing to me because it looks almost like a copper cent, haha. I'd say take it to a coin shop and offer a trade; your coin plus a few bucks for a better grade coin. Or trade this plus a few bucks and get a 64 or before half.

If the back was like the front, I would keep it. Just got back from the coin shop, expensive! He confirmed my nickel I post , saying it was a struck though error

That's assuming someone likes ice cream flavored like dirt.

I, for one, say you clean the front very carefully and see what you end up with. I don't see it winding up worse than melt value, haha.
