Friends, I found this Penny with a BIG "B" on the Obverse, and on the Back Letter on Top half are not there...what your advise? Is this a US Mint Error? Does it hold any collectors value? God Bless Beck, Kissimmee FL
Not an error. It's counterstruck for whatever reason by who knows who. I did this to a lot of coins when I was a kid with my dad's letter punch set. No extra value.
A Gem Bu & full onMS-65-68 Red LMC 1964 DDO or DDR yes. but in this condition worth about$0.02.5 cents as its 90% copper. :thumb::devil: but this one below sold for about $120-130.00 about a year and a half ago. :kewl:
Beautiful !! Couldn't help but notice you sent it to ANACS. Which is where you gotta go with errors and varieties, I guess if you want them attributed.
IMO there are not much differences between grading companys , any of them can and do make bad calls ever now and then .. sometimes thigns can go on for years and then someone may have to backtrack and change their opinion. I can't see very much in the images on here , the 6 in the date may have a split serif at the top of it and may have been how it got attributed. if it doesn't I don't see anything else except fat details to go by. This is coin images for you , it's really hard to tell what a coin is without having it in hand to look at.
Thanks for the Pictures of the 1968 DDO RED Friend,I really appreciate the clear Pictures of the 1968 RED,...now I know what a Nice DDO looks like...I believe I have one,or two from the 1961-? mine really looks exactly like that nice and red and heavey thick letters.. Thanks again! God Bless Beck, kissimmee FL
I found this one with fat lettering and also Wonder if it's MAD .look at top lettering and L in liberty. It's worn tho not it the condition of yours. Thoughts?
