I used to always post pictures but the properties of my upgraded phone do not allow any programs I have to crop the photos or change the size of the photos, and the image uploaded here says that the images are too large. And I have mentioned this several times so don't be too quick to write it off as an excuse. The DA note was a patch of sequential Series 2009 DA $1's, allCHCU BRAND NEW. You think you know everything there is, don't you? Tell me how you know that the DA trinary isn't CHCU. I guess this is the part where we find out that you have special powers that enable you to see all. C'mon, seriously? I have yet to find anything you've ever posted to be anywhere near helpful. It's all just a bunch of negative garbage. Have you ever thought that maybe we all don't have the kind of money like you to go prancing around online and buy whatever we feel like buying? Some of us are on tighter budgets and what we find in circulation for face is what goes in our collections. You have a cold shoulder towards me and I don't understand why. I do know that we disagree 100% about everything. Tell me why you think you can crush peoples hopes by telling them that a 1976 $2 D* isn't worth keeping? There IS someone out there willing to pay $3-$4 for it, I just know it. If you've been to that site so much, why did you say that it doesn't go past Series 2003A? It sounds to me like someone needs to get their facts straight. Someone like you doesn't and willnever understand the proud feeling of having a collection built up on things you've personally pulled out of circulation... Why don't you go find your 50x-100x face buying buddies, join their threads, and talk about all of you mailman package dropoffs because you seem to be ruining and not understanding the spirit of a strap searcher. -tbud
Your pushing my buttons, krispy. What was a conversation is turning into a compative argument. Why don't you calm down and keep things at a slower more friendly pace or as I asked before, don't reply to my thread anymore. I'm open and have to have as many members in my (you act intelligent, yet you don't get what I mean by 'my'. Maybe your just not as smart as you make yourself sound?) threads, but when your jabbing me on every single comment that I make, I'd prefer you to stay away. Be nice, as the CT rules say, or go away please. -tbud
Oh and I am trying my hardest to get my phone properties fixed and capable. I would like to be the first to test just how intelligent krispy is and show him my CHCU $1 DA trinary.
Okay, so I was sitting here at my desk trying to think of what your next jab would be and I think I figured it out. I'd imagine that after I posted the pictures, you would just say "well the resolution is not high enough to tell from a photo", so I decided to really go one step ahead. I pulled out the good 'ol scanner, which by allmeans has much higher resolution than a camera anyways. Stand by for scans of the rest of the notes I have found, but this one comes first just to prove a point:
You do like to run with your imagination so have the last word with it. Well, have fun with yourself here, tbud. I can't say I didn't try to help you throughout this, as I always try to help others with mutual interests. Glad to see you can scan finally, because you'll need it here on CT, especially when you join us in the Paper Money forum. I'll be in that forum when you're ready to join us. Toodles. :smile
No comment on what you claimed wouldn't be CHCU? Thats too bad. And here I thought you would be a little more prancy than to just give up so easily... I am in the Paper Money forum of CT all the time, far more often than you are, I can assure you that much. I am not in imaginatinland, while I am in positive land. You just need to think more positively and not be so negative all of the time. I tried being helpful enough to take the time to explain out that site to you and you reply back with a rude, smart remarks. Your a rude negative person and I am happy that you are prancing off to your twisted version of 'helping' fellow ciculation searchers because you just don't understand what it is like to be in the "Oooohh, I found a star/old bill!" state. Good day sir. Happy holidays. -tbud
Give up? no, moved on? yes. The forum you think you're in is a figment of your 'imagination' as I continue to remind you, twist it all anyway you like here on Fantasy Island, hope Santa Claus brings you all the strap bands you could ever need for running back and forth from the teller to your car to return cash... :rollling: Just remember a glove compartment is not a currency sleeve and some notes may appear better in your imagination than they really are.
Sweet Find t-bud, though I thought it was a $2, at first! haha. Every time I see the Neff/Simon sigs, my mind always first sees the note as a $2. No doubt, because 1976 $2's are still quite common, these days. I still have yet to find any 1970's series $1 notes, in circ. I have found a series 1969 though.
The scan shows what the scan shows, pal. I have to admit, I had no clue what kind of person I was working with until you wrote that. Now it's all becoming quite clear. I have not idea what you are speaking about a figment of my imagination. Check out these threads: http://www.cointalk.com/t66215/ http://www.cointalk.com/t195640/ http://www.cointalk.com/t193643/ http://www.cointalk.com/t193445/ http://www.cointalk.com/t193626/ ........................................ The list goes on and on and on. Either the population of fantasy island is growing at an unsafe rate or these are all real people living in the real word that are more than proud to strap search and find a star note. Go ahead and take a look at all of these proud decent people and once again tell me that I am living in fantasy island. -tbud
1976 $2's are beyond common. 1976 $2 star notes are not common at all. Thanks for the the friendly post. We need some more of these around here. I will post more pictures of my finds. As for '60s, I have found 1 1963A and 2 1969D. I will post scans shortly. Is there anything in particular you wanted me to post scans of? -tbud
Me? No, not really. While I enjoy seeing folks post images of their notes, I don't feel it completely necessary, unless somebody is asking about grade, or something along those lines. Those are some neat '60's notes up there. It must have been a bit of a rush to find those! I know I always get excited whenever I find notes that old.
In an attempt to help bring us back to strap searching finds. Here is a pic of a 1988A web note I found while searching a few months ago. Any attempts at grading this note would be helpful. The paper is still pretty crisp but it does have a fold down the center. I was thinking XF. I believe in the $7 -$15 range. How close do you think I am. Thanks Derek
I'm inclined to agree with you. XF about describes this note. Nice find! I still haven't found any web notes but I have a strong feeling that I will soon. -tbud
Beautiful note, Derek. I really can't be much help on assigning a grade or a value to the note, because I do not feel I know enough about that side of currency collecting, to give you an accurate opinion. I just wanted to say that that's a fantastic find, and a great note. I have a web note strap find as well, but mine is a 1995 series, F-D block. From what I understand about web notes, the 1988A series is the most desirable.
Depending on the condition in hand, this note could be as low as VF, but XF is most likely the grade. Value is dependent on the actual grade, but in XF, no more than $12 in my opinion.
@DR, Thanks for the input. I know it's hard to grade from a pic or scan in this case But it seems like we are both on the same page with this note. I was very happy to find a web note in this condition from circ even if it is one of the more common blocks. @Tbud, Thanks also for the kind reply. With all the notes you go through I'm sure you will find your first, second and maybe even your third webber before I find another. @jlg1130 Thanks also for appreciating my note. I would love to see a pic of your web note when you get a chance. Thanks Derek
Hey Derek, Here are a couple of pics of my '95 web. Front Plate 4, Back Plate 9. My apologies for the photo quality. All I have as a means to take, and post pics, is my phone, at the moment.
JLG1130, You also have a great find and a good looking note. I hope there are a few more of these in the wild up here in New England. Thanks for sharing Derek
