I'm trying to atribute this 1831 and need a little help. I believe I have narrowed it down to either an N-10 or N-14. I'm leaning toward N-14 but could use a second set of eyes.. Thanks..
I wasn't completely sure as the alignment for T3 is close on both. I was looking at the lettering being slightly further from the rim on the reverse of the N14 versus the N10. Guess on the N14 that leaf tip is ever so slightly further right than on the N10.
Looks like N-10 to me too. Check out the T in CENT. It is aligned neatly and straight on the N-14, and canted a little on the N-10 like the OP's. Lance.
Looks like it's N-10 then..~ Aah well, at least it is an R3 based on my book unless, that has since dropped since the book was published..! Thanks all~~
The heck with nomenclature (it always confused me), once you have the letter size nailed, just check the tips of each of the outside leaves against lettering and look at reference pictures. If that's not enough, look for other key differences (like ONE CENT). I agree with N-10.
