help identifying this little thing....

    hello again... so i have surfed the internet and came up mostly empty handed on this little tiny thing.. it has a date of 1850 on the front with eureka above the guy...on the other side is a nice sunset with the word one spelled out and d.w.g underneath....the pics have a penny as well to show the size of this thing... any clue what the heck it is?? the pics are as good as i could get...sorry:rollling:

    Looks like California gold. I believe its a token produced afterwards.

    the front says eureka and 1850 and the back says california gold on top and one with d.g.w below it

    I agree with Chris, a token either celebrating the CGR or one of those play money peices, supposed to be money produced during the CGR.

    i can find some of them but all the ones i find have a bear on them... i thought it was plastic when i first picked it up...then i tapped it and it is some kind of metal..

    does anyone have the 2010 red book that can look it up under pages 381-382 under private and territorial gold, and see what that brings up...
